Deaf Camp

The Annual NSW High School Deaf camp is one of Mt Druitt Lions major projects.

Through support from the Lions Clubs of NSW and the ACT, there have been 5 day camps held every year in places including Batemans Bay, Myuna Bay, Milson Island, Broken Bay, Jindabyne, Lake Burrendong, Narrabeen, and Point Wolstoncroft.

Between 100 - 150 students from Public, Catholic and Private high schools across NSW and ACT are chosen to attend each year, along with various teachers, and Lions Club helpers. This continues to be a memorable and occasionally a once in a lifetime opportunity for many deaf students, as it serves as an opportunity to be around peers of their same age group with whom they can forge friendships with.

The students enjoy many social activities, sports and games and some great food.
